The focus of workforce planning is expanding in multiple directions. Organizations are increasingly global in terms of labor, customers, extended supply chains and more, but the definition of labor is changing. Robots, or RPAs, are replacing or disrupting certain jobs, and will be changing other jobs. Global workforce planning should address not only questions such as "what is the work", "when is the work" and "where should we do the work," but "how should we do the work" and that's not just a question of employee vs. contingent but employee vs. contingent vs. RPA? Now, more than ever, you need great workforce planning programs and tools to help answer these questions.
